SAN ANTONIO – A man and a woman accused of robbing a store in Helotes were allegedly influenced by a television show about a robbery, according to police.

An affidavit states that Courtney Clark, 32, and Shoniqua Robinson, 31, may have committed up to four robberies in and around the San Antonio area.

Clark, a male, was arrested on a robbery charge on Monday, booking records show. Robinson was arrested on a robbery charge on Friday and has since been released from jail, records show.

According to authorities, the man and woman are tied to a robbery that happened on Dec. 9 at the Cash Store in the 9700 block of Business Parkway in Helotes.

Police said the woman went into the store that evening and sat at a table as a female employee helped other customers. The woman then asked the employee if she could use a computer, and a man kept entering the store “at various times” to speak to the woman, police said.

The woman went to the employee and handed her a note that said “fill my bag up with all the money or I will shoot to kill I have a gun and I will use it,” the affidavit states.

The female suspect took cash from the register and the safe, police said. The man, later identified as Clark, acted as the getaway driver, the affidavit states.

Officers were able to identify Robinson as a suspect from two fingerprints left on the note, the affidavit states. Robinson was interviewed by Helotes police last week.

The affidavit for Clark states that they used to be in a relationship. Robinson told authorities that they panned the robbery after watching a television show about a robbery.

She said two of the robberies they committed were “aggravated” because one of them used a handgun.

Clark’s bond was set at $35,000, booking records show.
