The Indiana Area School District has added a second active covid-19 case to its 14-day rolling count at the Junior High School, but while Superintendent Mike Vuckovich says the school is “approaching the required number of cases that would necessitate a closure”, the school remains open for now.
The new case involves a student, and Vuckovich emphasizes that the rolling count for each school begins at the onset of symptoms, not on the day of notification. Therefore, the first active case would be removed on January 20th, and the newest case on the 22nd. Still, he says, parents should be prepared in case any of the district’s buildings need to switch to remote learning. Indiana Area is the only county school district with a new covid-19 listing today.
