On a monthly basis, the Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) releases the City of Santa Clara's crime statistics along with comparable statistics from 2012 - present. This information is online.
In addition, SCPD provides many ways for business owners and current residents, as well as individuals considering a move to our City, to access information about police activity and crime statistics.
Crime Statistics
On a monthly basis, SCPD distributes a news item to our community via social media highlighting the City of Santa Clara's crime statistics from the previous month. Choose your preferred way to receive this information - eNotify, Facebook, Nextdoor, Nixle, Twitter. Links to each option are available at www.scpd.org. In addition, SCPD's Crime Statistics webpage features data from 2012 - present at https://www.santaclaraca.gov/our-city/departments-g-z/police-department/crime
Community Crime Map & Alerts
SCPD partners with LexisNexis to bring our residents accurate, up-to-date crime information for the areas you care about most – home, office, child's college town, etc. This system utilizes calls for service data from the Police Department’s computer aided dispatch system, including incident date, time, location and call type to create a mapped summary for multiple call types.
It should be noted, SCPD responds to many situations that do not result in a crime report. As a result, these interactions are not captured in this service.
This information is provided to educate the public on police activity. By keeping our community informed about crime in their neighborhood, residents can be more vigilant and implement crime prevention efforts. Learn more by logging on at www.communitycrimemap.com

On a weekly basis, SCPD distributes a Police Blotter on our website and social media channels which highlights a partial list of incidents in the City.

Arrest Log
On a daily basis, SCPD publishes an Arrest Log which contains a summary of arrest made by our Department. In some cases, the identity of the suspect has been removed per Government Code regulations. The Arrest Log can be found at www.scpd.org
Police Records and Public Records Act Requests
SCPD's Records Unit processes the crime reports written by police officers and ensures that the reports are routed to appropriate locations such as the Bureau for further investigation and the District Attorney's Office for prosecution. The Records Unit processes requests for police reports or other crime data from a wide variety of requestors including other law enforcement agencies, insurance companies, crime victims, the press and members of the public.
