GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island man will be in court next month for a hate crime charge.
Danny Anson, 64, was arrested for terroristic threats that have been elevated to a hate crime following an incident Friday night.
Grand Island Police were called out to the 500 block of east 18th for a report of a disturbance.
Police said a man and woman, both Hispanic, reported that Anson had threatened them with a crow bar and made racial slurs to the man.
Police were able to catch up with Anson, who was on a motorized bike, where they recovered a large metal crow bar.
Anson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 23 at 1:30 p.m.
