The Oregon Health Authority reported 484 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 in Oregon on Thursday, which is the highest daily case count for the state since the pandemic began.
COVID-19 claimed 11 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 594 and bringing the number of cases in Oregon to 36,116. A large workplace outbreak of 59 cases in Klamath County, contributed to the high number. The remainder of the new cases on Thursday are being investigated so it is to soon to know the sources of the increase.
The new cases include;
*82 in Multnomah County
*71 in Lane County
*58 in Washington County
*44 in Klamath County
*31 each in Clackamas and Marion counties
*20 in Linn County
*18 in Umatilla County
*17 in Deschutes County
*16 in Malheur County
*12 in Yamhill County
*11 in Benton County
*9 in Douglas County
*8 in Columbia County
*5 each in Morrow and Polk counties
*4 in Wasco County
*3 each in Hood River and Lincoln counties
*2 each in Josephine and Union counties
*1 each in Baker, Coos, Curry and Gilliam counties
The new deaths ranged in age from 75 to 103. 7 lived in Wasco County. 2 lived in Washington County.1 each lived in Lane and Linn counties.
The outbreak in Klamath County is at Planasa Oregon Operations LLC. The outbreak investigation began on October 1st, but the initial case count was below the threshold for public disclosure.
