A Rochester woman was cited for assaulting a paramedic while being taken to the hospital following a suspected DUI crash on Feb. 9.
The woman, identified as 51-year-old Tonia Kruger, allegedly kicked a 19-year-old Chatfield Ambulance employee causing the paramedic to fall backward and hit her head on the interior of the ambulance, according to Olmsted County Sheriff's Sgt. James Schueller. The paramedic was diagnosed with a moderate concussion.
Kruger allegedly spit in the woman's face as well. Kruger is charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree assault on an emergency medical personnel, according to Schueller. Possible DUI charges could be filed pending the results of a blood draw.

A skid loader and its bucket and forks that were reported stolen from a Kalmar Township property were found in Dodge County -- two days before they were reported stolen.
The complainant said he last used the items on Feb. 10 and that they had been stored in an unlocked shed in the 6000 block of 14th Street Northwest in Kalmar Township. Unbeknownst to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, the Bobcat s300 skid loader were located at an abandoned farmstead in the 60,000 block of 180th Avenue in Dodge Center on Feb. 8, according to Olmsted County Sheriff's Sgt. James Schueller.
The investigation is ongoing.
Deputies were called back to that Kalmar Township residence on Monday for a report of an illegal burn. A 28-year-old Rochester man was cited for it.
While responding to the call, deputies reportedly found a stolen 2013 silver-colored Toyota Tacoma on the property. That incident remains under investigation as well.
