Police arrest suspect for assault, hit-and-run
ROYAL OAK — At approximately 11 p.m. April 29, Royal Oak police responded to a report of a fight between two people in the 400 block of Park Avenue, near Main Street and 11 Mile Road.
The suspect, a 34-year-old Farmington Hills resident, attempted to leave the house and backed into a telephone pole, according to the police report. Officers stopped the vehicle, and the driver stated that the homeowner owed him money and they had begun to fight, according to the report.
Police determined that the suspect was the aggressor, and officers arrested him on assault and battery and hit-and-run charges, according to the report.
Unlocked vehicle stolen from home
ROYAL OAK — A complainant reported that sometime between 10 p.m. April 28 and 9 a.m. April 29, an unknown suspect stole his unlocked vehicle from in front of his house in the 1500 block of Whitcomb Avenue, near 14 Mile and North Campbell roads.
Vehicle taken by acquaintance, found in Detroit
ROYAL OAK — A complainant reported that between midnight April 24 and 10 a.m. April 29, he had allowed an acquaintance to stay at his home, located in the 1000 block of East Fourth Street, west of South Campbell Road. He discovered that she had stolen his vehicle and contacted her, and she advised that it was parked in Detroit, according to police. The complainant recovered the vehicle, according to the police report.
Rear window shattered in road rage incident
ROYAL OAK — At approximately 8:50 p.m. April 28, a complainant reported that as he was driving northbound on Woodward Avenue, near 10 Mile Road, he was involved in a road rage incident. The suspect, who was driving a silver Jeep Cherokee, pulled up next to the complainant and threw an unknown object at the complainant’s rear window, causing it to shatter, according to the police report.
Medication stolen from recently sold home
ROYAL OAK — A complainant reported that sometime between 3 and 5 p.m. April 28, someone stole his medication. He told police that his house recently was sold and was in the process of having a home inspection. After the real estate agent and home inspector finished the home inspection, the complainant realized that the medication was missing, according to the police report.
Complainants report 2 catalytic converter thefts
ROYAL OAK — A complainant reported that sometime between 8 p.m. April 26 and 6 a.m. April 27, an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter from her car, which had been parked in the street in the 700 block of North Connecticut Avenue, near South Campbell and 11 Mile roads.
Another complainant reported that sometime between 10 p.m. April 26 and 10 a.m. April 27, an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter from his car, which had been parked in the street in the 1300 block of North Vermont Avenue, near North Campbell and 12 Mile roads.
Valuables stolen from unlocked car
ROYAL OAK — A complainant reported that sometime between 11 p.m. April 21 and 8 a.m. April 24, an unknown suspect stole a wallet, an iPad and loose change from his unlocked car, which had been parked in the 3100 block of Maplewood Avenue, near 13 Mile and Crooks roads.
Shoplifter arrested for attempting to steal vodka, food
ROYAL OAK — At approximately 1 p.m. April 19, Royal Oak police responded to a report of a shoplifter being detained by store security at Meijer, 5150 Coolidge Highway, north of 14 Mile Road.
Police arrested the suspect for retail fraud after the suspect allegedly attempted to steal two small bottles of vodka and some food, according to the police report.
