FREMONT — Police are treating as a hate crime graffiti that was found this week in the Centerville neighborhood.

The incident marks the third occasion since February that officers have taken reports about graffiti depicting racist and offensive terms and symbols at a construction site at an apartment complex in the area of Moraine Street and Bonde way, police said.

All of the graffiti has been found on construction equipment and supplies.

Detectives have been assigned and are actively investigating the case. But in a community alert issued Friday investigators also said they currently have no suspect information or leads.

Anyone with information can contact the police department’s investigative unit at 510-790-6900.
