SAN JOSE – Authorities on Monday afternoon closed a stretch of Highway 101 in San Jose to search for evidence related to a recent crime, police said.

In a tweet, the San Jose Police Department said northbound Highway 101 would be closed between Story Road and Alum Rock Avenue from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. About 3:15 p.m., police said the freeway was in the process of reopening.

The California Highway Patrol assisted in the closure.

Reached by email, Sgt. Christian Camarillo said police were “looking for evidence related to a crime that occurred recently,” but he could not provide any additional details.
