FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public School District reported one new COVID case when it updated its COVID-19 dashboard this morning, June 10.
With the latest update on the dashboard, the district has had a total of 186 cases this 2020-21 academic school year.
The district does not list if cases are teachers, staff, or students in the dashboard, or when the district sends emails to staff or families.
The latest case was reported at Brophy Elementary School, which has had 9 cases this school year.
Framingham High leads the district with 47 cases this school year.
Fuller Middle, along with McCarthy Elementary School, both on Flagg Drive, each have 13 cases this school year.
Unless a family chose to stay remote, all students K-12 are full-time in-person learning, for the rest of the school year.
DESE announced last month all school would be in-person for the 2021-2022 school year, unless a district applies for a waiver.
The Framingham Public School district has been conducting PCR testing for staff. The District said 99% of teachers are in-person full-time.
Students are being testing via pooled testing. Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay announced April 28, the participating rate in the free COVID-19 pooled testing, has increased to 70% at the elementary level.
Tremblay told the School Committee district-wide the rate is about 60%, as the participation rate in the secondary levels (middle and high) is only at about 50%. Participation is voluntary in the program.
Only students who are part of the in-person or hybrid learning can participate in the pooled testing. Remote students do not participate in pooled testing.
In mid-March, only 46% of students were participating in the district’s pooled testing program to identify COVID-19 cases.
