SMPD officers were dispatched to the 3100 Block of Santa Monica Blvd to Kings Liquor Store for a possible strongarm robbery. According to the victim, while standing near his parked car, a male suspect approached him and asking for money to buy food. Reluctantly, the victim removed money from his pocket and proceeded to hand the suspect $2. The suspect forcefully grabbed the remaining cash from his hand to fled the area. Officers located the subject a few blocks away and arrested him Marco Martinez for Grand Theft from a person.
