On Nov. 5 at approximately 4:20 a.m.
Officers responded to the 1000 block of 4th Street, for a ‘Burglary Now’ call. Dispatch relayed that two males with hoodies entered the locked front doors to the building using a key and were trying to open the change machine in the laundry room located in the garage. The reporting party was able to view the suspects live through the building’s cameras. Upon review of the video, Officers identified two suspects and the method of entry. Suspect, Erik Gonzalez from Santa Monica was ultimately booked for burglary and possession of burglary tools. Suspect, Sebastian Silveira, from Los Angeles, was book for the same with the addition of possession of methamphetamine. SMPD officers contacted the US Postal Inspection Service, via telephone, and notified them of the crime and the use of counterfeit keys that are restricted for use by postal carriers.
