(Hyde County)
Luana Gibbs, Health Director for Hyde County announced Hyde County’s second laboratory confirmed case of COVID-19 on June 3. The individual is in isolation at home and close contacts have been identified and are quarantined as well. Though we have been fortunate to have a very small number of laboratory confirmed cases, we must not become complacent, as COVID-19 remains an extremely contagious virus. Gibbs reminds the public to implement and continue your 3 Ws practices: Wear, Wait, Wash!
In addition, Dare County today reported its 24th case of COVID-19, the second new case in the past two days. While no details have been released about the individual with the virus, it appears from data on the county website that the person is not a resident of Dare County.
