Detectives with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a potential hate crime incident after an individual reported finding a noose outside of a yurt over the weekend at Whistler’s Bend Park, east of Roseburg.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell said “we take reports of potential hate crimes very seriously and will always investigate aggressively”. O’Dell said DCSO has not yet been contacted by the individual who posted the incident on social media, but are asking them to contact investigators at 440-4471.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call DCSO as well.
