The university will update their case counts each weekday with numbers from the previous day. Chancellor Donde Plowman will give a live streamed update to the university and the community twice a week, each Tuesday and Friday.
Total number of active cases: 97 (up from 75)

Number of people in self-isolation: 355 (up from 270)
- 70 students living on campus (51)
- 191 students living off campus (136)
- 94 employees (83)
Students began moving onto campus on Aug. 9, and the first day of classes is Aug. 19.

No tailgating, Neyland Stadium capacity limited to 25%
Last week, Chancellor Donde Plowman said she was hopeful there would still be a football season, but things would look dramatically different. There will be no university-organized tailgating.
The University of Tennessee plans to restrict seating to about a quarter of Neyland Stadium's capacity for home football games this fall, athletics director Phillip Fulmer said during a news conference Tuesday in Nashville.
UT identifies first cluster of cases after an off-campus party
The University of Tennessee at Knoxville has traced a cluster of active COVID-19 cases to an off-campus party, the university announced Tuesday.
A cluster is defined as at least five connected cases or 20 people in self-isolation stemming from one event, said Dr. Spencer Gregg, director of the UT Student Health Center.
