REPORTS

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (Significant), 2021-11170075 / 11170078, 2300 block of 2nd Street S. / 2100 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 10:52 a.m. on November 17, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the store and allegedly took two beverages before leaving and consuming them outside. A short time later, the suspect reentered the store and attempted to take two more beverages. He again left and upon reentering the store, tossed merchandise on the floor before fleeing the scene on foot. At approximately 10:59 a.m., police were dispatched to the report of a disorderly subject in the 2100 block of Washington Boulevard. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered the building, began acting disorderly and smashed glass panels before fleeing the scene on foot. While on scene, police received a report of a disorderly subject and located the suspect at a business in the 200 block of N. Glebe Road. He actively resisted arrest and following a brief struggle, he was taken into custody without further incident. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for medical evaluation. Kevin Singleton, 38, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Felony Destruction of Property, Misdemeanor Destruction of Property, and Resisting Arrest.
