REPORTS
ASSAULT & BATTERY ON POLICE, 2021-05220227, N. Glebe Road at N. Quincy Street. At approximately 7:46 p.m. on May 22, police were dispatched to the report of a destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside his vehicle at a red light when two individuals ran into the intersection. The suspect then allegedly jumped onto the hood of the victim’s vehicle and smashed the windshield. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was located by responding officers at N. Glebe Road and Carlin Springs. As officers attempted to detain the suspect, he became physically combative and spat at them. Following a brief struggle, he was taken into custody. An officer was transported to an area hospital for a minor injury sustained during the struggle. At booking, the suspect complained of a previous injury and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. While at the hospital, the suspect kicked, scratched and threatened officers. Wade Westmoreland, 37, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Assault on Police (x4), Obstruction of Justice (x2) and Destruction of Property. He was held without bond.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2021-05230153, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 3:50 p.m. on May 23, police were dispatched to the report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was walking in the area when he was approached by the suspect. The victim continued to walk away and the suspect allegedly grabbed his arm and began striking him. The victim was able to break away from the suspect, but the suspect ran after him. The suspect then shoved the victim against a wall and continued to strike him before beginning to choke him. Security personnel and bystanders intervened and detained the suspect until officers arrived. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Michael Dennis, 28, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding and Strangulation. He was held without bond.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2021-05230052, 3700 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 2:48 a.m. on May 23, police were dispatched to the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, it was determined that the known suspect approached the victim and attempted to speak with him. When the victim walked away, the suspect allegedly followed, broke a beer bottle and struck the victim, causing several lacerations. The victim was treated on scene by medics. Monica Navarro, 39, of Oxon Hill, MD, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2021-05220257, 5100 block of Little Falls Road. At approximately 9:52 p.m. on May 22, police were dispatched to the report of an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim and known suspect became involved in a verbal altercation. As the victim was leaving, the suspect allegedly pushed him to the ground and kicked him several times, causing injury. The victim was treated on scene by medics. David Blodgett, 36, of Murfreesboro, TN, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding. He was held without bail.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2021-05230143, 16th Street N. at N. Glebe Road. At approximately 2:05 p.m. on May 23, police were dispatched to the report of an exposure. The reporting party advised dispatch they had observed a male masturbating in the area. The responding officer located an individual matching the reporting party’s description and made contact with him. The individual denied exposing himself. Attempts to contact the reporting party were unsuccessful and no other witnesses to the alleged crime were located. The individual was released from the scene.
GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 2021-05210139, 700 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 3:45 p.m. on May 21, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted grand larceny auto. Upon arrival, it was determined that the two female suspects entered the business and began engaging with an employee, when Suspect One stepped away for a short time and Suspect Two continued to engage with the employee. When she returned, the two suspects left the business and the employee noticed the keys to his company vehicle were missing. The employee went to check the vehicle and allegedly observed the two suspects inside attempting to drive-off, but was able to step in front of the vehicle and prevent them from leaving. The two suspects exited the vehicle and began to walk away, while the employee called dispatch and began following Suspect Two. Arriving officers located Suspect Two in the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive, while Suspect One remained and was located at the business entering a second vehicle. As officers attempted to detain Suspect One, she provided what was later determined to be a false identity. Suspect One, Janell Campbell, 53, of Washington, DC was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and False ID to Law Enforcement. Suspect Two, Chappel Monroe, 49, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. She was also served with outstanding warrants out of Fairfax County.
ROBBERY, 2021-05220178, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 2:22 p.m. on May 22, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and discovered he was concealing merchandise in his clothing. The investigation determined that the suspect had also allegedly previously stolen a cell phone from the business two days prior. During that incident, an employee attempted to stop the suspect as he was fleeing and a brief struggle ensued. Reginald Allen, 35, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Shoplifting: Concealing Goods and Robbery.
GRAND LARCENY AUTO / VEHICLE TAMPERING / LARCENY FROM AUTO / BURGLARY (series), 2021-05230071 / 05230079 / 05230084 / 05230089 / 05230109 / 05230121, 4300 block of 31st Street N., 3500 block of 25th Street N., 4000 block of 25th Street N., 2700 block of N. Randolph Street, 6400 block of 29th Street N., 3200 block of N. Ohio Street. At approximately 6:02 a.m. on May 23, police were dispatched to the report of vehicle tampering in the 4300 block of 31st Street N. Upon arrival, it was determined that a witness observed two vehicles occupied by four suspects approach the victim’s residence. Two suspects exited and tried the door handles to the vehicles parked in the driveway before fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the two involved vehicles, a 2018 Ford Expedition bearing VA tags UNX8251 and a 2018 Honda Accord bearing VA tags JDM4288, had previously been stolen from the 3500 block of 25th Street N. and the 4000 block of 25th Street N. While investigating this incident, officers identified six additional vehicles that had been tampered with and rummaged through, but no items were reported stolen. During one of the tamperings, the suspects unsuccessfully attempted to use a key located inside a vehicle to enter the victim’s residence in the 3200 block of N. Ohio Street. Suspect One is described as a Black male with a skinny build, wearing a bright orange reflective vest, a green hoodie, red skinny pants, white shoes, black socks, purple latex gloves and a dark colored mask. Suspect Two is described as a Black male with an athletic build, wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans, black shoes and blue latex gloves. There are no descriptions for Suspect Three and Four. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2021-05220194, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 4:59 p.m. on May 22, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered the store and selected multiple items of merchandise and concealed them in a bag. The suspect attempted to leave the store without paying and was confronted by an employee. A brief struggle ensued, and the suspect verbally threatened to harm the employee with a knife. The employee stepped back and the suspect fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’8” tall, wearing a black hat, orange jacket with a black hoodie underneath and black pants. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2021-05230078, 2000 block of 4th Street S. At approximately 7:26 a.m. on May 23, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 12:30 p.m. on May 22 and 6:05 a.m. on May 23, an unknown suspect entered an occupied residence through a window and stole several of the victim’s personal items and rummaged through other items throughout the residence. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2021-05220141, 2500 block of S. Kenmore Court. At approximately 11:00 a.m. on May 22, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted larceny of a bicycle. Upon arrival, it was determined that the witness observed the suspect unlawfully enter the victim’s open garage and attempt to take a bicycle. The witness confronted the suspect who then fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a White male, wearing a black baseball hat, sunglasses, black face mask, dark blue hoodie, dark blue sweatpants and black shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2021-05220292, 3200 block of 24th Street S. At approximately 11:25 p.m. on May 22, police were dispatched to the report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 10:30 p.m., the victim returned to his residence to find that the front door had been forced open. He conducted a search of his residence and noticed that a pair of shoes were missing. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2021-05210046, 3800 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 7:09 a.m. on May 21, police were dispatched to the report of a breaking and entering just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined that the unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the business and stole numerous tools and materials. Officers conducted a search of the business and surrounding area with negative results. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (series), 2021-05230164 / 05230178 / 05230184, 3000 block of N. Oakland Street. At approximately 4:47 p.m. on May 23, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny from auto. Upon arrival, it was determined that a bicycle was stolen from the trunk of the victim’s unlocked car. During the investigation, two additional vehicles were identified that had been rummaged through. No items were reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description.
